Week 9 (27th May 2019 - 2nd June 2019)

On the 27th May 2019, a representative from each group had a meeting with Ms. Norji and Mr. Edwin at C9 Meeting Room, Taylor’s University, at 12.00pm. A few agendas were discussed in the meeting :

1. Planning on the works to be delivered on site 

2. Tools and equipment to be purchased

3. Logistic 

4. Food

5. Total numbers of manpower on site for each group

 

After a thorough discussion with the paint team, Ms. Norji has decided to divide the transformation phase into three stages:

Week 10: Cleaning and Prime Coating - 1st June 2019

Week 11: Painting and Arrangement - 8th June 2019

Based on the discussion with the Kansai Paint, our main sponsor for the event, slightly changes to be made on the execution phase. Ms Khiew did mentioned for the wood surface material, it requires specific primer paint to be applied to it, which once applied it will give a strong chemical odour to the space for at least three days. Therefore, she advised students to clean the surface earlier and apply a minimum of 2 coats on the surface before applying the final layer as it involved interior and exterior look. Due to that, visitation on site to be done more than once as the cleaning on the surfaces will be taking a longer time. Ms. Norji advised Group 2, 3 and 4 to divide the team members fairly on-site to perform the job.

 

At the end of the session, a total of 25 students from Group 2, 3 and 4 will be going to site in the upcoming phases. Students were required to fill in the indemnity form before travel to the site and submit the form to Ms. Norji before the event day. The list of the names and transportation as follows:
